The big Airfix, the most challenging part of this plane is trying to find somewhere to put it.
I recomend anyone building this plane, research it, it is one of the greatest planes ever made and its the germans who thought highest of it. Any german who shot one down recieved 2 kills, it is a justified compliment and show of respect to the bird from her enemy.

A quick few shots of a scania somebody got me to build for them. I hate building trucks and cars and things like that (because I have no interest in trhem and therfore I find it difficult to stay motivated). This truck is primered, sprayed ford ink blue and laqured. It should never rust. Also, if you thought brake fluid screwed up car paint, try model glue

I agree totally , they will provide jap zeros with rising sun and red suns on , but not a swastika, forgeting the japs did there own mass murders in the Philippines, Malaysians , Chinese and Aussie and British POWs in the war ,? however that's ok? Nice models, well made.? But where are the Swastika's? Obviously airfix are not including them in the kits anymore, which is ridiculous. You can't change history, thats how they looked, they had a Swastika on the tail! What a joke, more PC bollocks. You'll have to make your own up. The German WWII aircraft don't look right without it...

Airfix do a small motor that fits inside the engine block of the 1;24 models (except the fw190's radial engine). Check out the airfix site. All the models have a few lettered (not numbered like normal) parts and these are used as? mounts for the motor.

Well I'm about to start work on the Airfix 1/24 Hawker Hurricane. Series 14. Can't seem to find a YT vid of one being built though. It does have the same Merlin as your Spitfire. With Models this size I find it impossible to not motorize , but I do sacrifice a bit of detail as I can NEVER find motors small enough to fit nicely within the engine block. Any ideas here? would be a boon, Mate.

look at it like this. The airfix kit is 7 times the price but will take 10 times as long to build. Those kits look fantastic but I enjoy doing the engines and finicky bits. I would recomend those sort of kits for people who don't? enjoy airfix models because the progress is so slow waiting for stuff to set or dry

Go 1:48. The 1;72 is simpler but it is difficult to get a good finish. The larger the model the better the? detail and you are not getting into complicated internal detail on a 1:48

you dont like small models do you haha, i got the 1:32 stuka massive kit, there a bit pricey the big airfix kits have you tried? 21st centuary toys? they do mostly 1:32nd aircraft bf 109, stuka, macchi, zero, corsair and on ebay you can get them easily for at the most £10 they are just like airfix but each part is in its own plastic bag so no cutting of the sprue and no cleaning up flash on the plastic they are good fun have a go.

I love the Focke Wulf 190 paint job, it looks great. I had a 1/24 Spitfire when i was younger which I was pretty proud of :) Have a look? at the 1/24 Mossie airfix have released, please post a vid of it if you get it! All the best and great work.

Incredible workmanship on these models! I have an old 1/24 Airfix P-51 kit (sold under MPC when I got it-back in 1979!). I had built an MPC 1/72 C130 kit before getting the P-51 model, and experienced "fit and finish" issues with the c130 kit, so I guessed the P-51 kit would have similar fit issues, but I still wanted to do a top notch build on the P-51 kit? since it was large and quite detailed. I guess this may be why I haven't built it yet! But thanks for your offer for build tips!

The stuka is the most detailed and it is a brilliant model. It is airfix's best 1:24.Also, out? of all mine, it gets the most onlookers. the flaps are a pain but it is a rewarding build. The mustang is good but it has the single most frustrating step of any of the 1:24 kits I've built. Also, the engine cowling is not easy to fit.
