@APMathNerd Most drum corps are full of young college students...not high schoolers. Maybe high schoolers who just graduated. Yes, there are some of them, but the majority? of drum corps are young college kids.

People that try to become professional athletes are? doing "general studies" in college. There's a reason kids doing drum corps go on to be doctors, lawyers, scientists, etc.

I'll do this is all caps so even the dumb jocks can understand: IF YOU'VE NEVER MARCHED DRUM CORPS YOU'LL NEVER KNOW HOW DIFFICULT IT IS. There's a reason people drop 20-30 pounds over the course of the summer. Try boxing or any other sport while EXHALING ALL OF YOUR AIR AS HARD AS YOU CAN to play an instrument while having completely separated upper and lower body control. I'm sure that those three languages help you in judging the physical intensity of activities. I'm in high school. School ends at 2:00, and I usually get home at around 5-6:00 depending on when I'm done tutoring math or hanging out with friends. Yes, I have a pathetic social life I know. I then proceed to do? AP statistics and AP calculus homework for a couple hours (I'm a Junior btw). As you can see, I'm clearly the type of person to be ignorant enough to trust scientific evidence. I apologize.

@FightForTheArts They are often referred to as tenors but can be called quads or quints as well. There are multiple other names that can be used but tenor drums are the primary one. Do not confuse with tenor saxophone. :)?
