I have a 2007 Z4 and I like the body style better on mine. The new version is a little too rounded giving it more of an American sportscar design. The new dash is amazing though... SMOOTH. In America, the Z4 is considered more of a ladies car while men are more reserved to larger? framed auto with larger mach engines.

If I had to chose again, I would still go for the Z4. Its a great car with an individual style. You get the BMW straight 6 in the 3.0 and M which? will keep on going forever not to mention the unbelievable sound of the engine when you give it some in every gear. The SLK in my opinon tends to be the car of choice for middle age men in a mid-life crisis or a sweet looking drop-top for the ladyeez.

Not really....The average driver would never be able to tell the difference in the handling because the? average driver will never get anywhere near the limits of either vehicle. Arguably, the boxter does not look as nice as the Bimmer. But, that's just my opinion...I've always tended to think of both as girlie cars.

In my opinion, BMW 1, 3, 5, 7 and M3 series are virtually spin-off of one main body design. BMW is nice but lacking variation in design. Similar kidney grill can be seen across all platforms. I have to say one thing, the transmission gears are like clock work. Most cars peak out, while this car even when you think it's peaked out just wants to go faster.? @enjoi017 they excite me BUT not the same way as the e10 2002 tii or the e30 M3s. BMW still makes some great cars BUT they no longer dominate the market... no longer king. Audi has caught up with? them and Mercedes has stepped up their game. i like the e92 M3 but i find it too heavy. the one series is a completely under rated car. but in an attempt to find extra profits and being an "everything" brand, they've lost that little bit of excitement.

@lostaznking so the new 2008 m3 doesn't excite you or the 135i's? Perhaps the 550i Gran Turismo? BMW is doing great and Rolls Royce, the sister just jumped ten fold. Bmw is here to stay, I don't know about that 7 series though...but I hear a m7 is in the werks. 2006 was also had its perks, 2006 750i. Show stopper that you can pick up for 25 grand. The only grips I have with? BMW is their v12's. I believe Mercedes has trumped BMW there for sometime now but the ghost is a HUGE hit.

@enjoi017 the golden age of BMW was 2000-2003 that was when every car they made dominated the class they were marketed in the. at the time the e46 m3 had the most powerful naturally aspirated 6 cylinder engine in the world, the highest horse power? to liter ratio ever offered by BMW and, being more powerful then all non-Turbo or GT Porsche 911... it was a show stopper.

I'm? kind of glad BMW cut the coupe out of production and went with the roadster. Here's my fav list: 2007 911 turbo 2003 x5 4.6si 2009 jaguar xf super 2006 land rover sport super 2007 MB s550 4 matic amg 2003 m3 2008 m3 2006 330i sport 2006 z4 3.0si 2002 745i sport w/ 750 wheels I have always been a BMw guy and I completely forgot this model. For whatever reason 2003 for BMW was a great year of design. You can literally pick anyone of these on the super cheap!

I currently drive an e46 M3, but the M coupe is my favorite car that I will probably sadly never own. I love the fact that its 2 seats, but its just not practical to buy for most people. I only like the hardtop as well. I believe the E60 M5 will? most likely be my next ride. Would love to have this machine as a daily driver to work though.

their right the z3 is a bit weak, a bit doggy at times but definitely fun to own!! The bmw z4 however is a completely? diffferent animal. what the z4 lacks in looks it makes up in performance. I do wish however that there were more color choices interior and exterior wise.

Great car chase! I actually lived in the house shown at the beginning of the film. I rented it for 7 years from 1983 through 1990. Great views? of the LA Harbor on a third of an acre; rare for LA! It was also used as a set in '85 or '86 for part of an episode of "Trapper John M.D." and was later Matthew Modine's parent's house in 1989's "Gross Anatomy".

And I'd like to see Mercedes build a quality car that was not always in the shop and offer a warranty that's as good? as BMW's. Touting supercars is one thing living in reality and driving a quality car is entirely different. I have had Two mercdes (3 if you count a ML for 3 weeks) and they my AMG Service record was taller than I am twice...and I'm 5'11 My BMW has had only a couple of issues and none of them dangerous which the SLK 32 AMG did. I have one and I did choose it over a Vette. The Vette felt very solid but the warranty was not as good and is ugly on the inside. The M Roadster was the only car I drove that put a smile on my face when I drove it, every time! I test drove a Vette, SLK 55 AMG (beautiful but my last one SLK 32 AMG was in the shop all of the time? and mercedes would not let me out of the lease or let me have another car so fuck them! So I got a BMW), Boxster was nice but no real thrill.

Corvette's are big bang for the buck. Excellent? powertrain. The problem is, you have to sit inside the car while driving it and GM has incredibly horrifying interiors. Inside the Vette, seems like you're sitting in a 97' Cavalier. I would take the MZ4 over a regulkar Vette straight up. I would actually take a Z06 over a MZ4 though. I have owned a MZ3 and currently the Z4 3.0 sport. Both are great, but not super-car great.

Plus as I've mentioned a million times the lap times are faster in the Corvette around the track. Oops! i meant the TVR isn't the slightest 'BIT' plastic! At least in the interior. It does have a reputation for poor build quality though. I don't know if that's still true today but certainly older models were considered unreliable. The interior doesn't have to? be leather..

Calm down! I wasn't the one complaining, just? pointing out that Top Gear was far less harsh on the C6 than you were saying! The TVR isn't the slightest but plastic by the way, just check out the classifieds on Pistonheads. The drag race was probably unfair as it depends on the driver so you have a point there. The TVR can hit 60 in 4.4, the 911 not far off and I've seen figures that suggest the Vette is at least as quick!

That review was fundamentally terrible. Not only did I learn nothing but some basics, but those basics plus "ride quality" was the entire reason for the unclear conclusion, which was highly negative. Never even mentioned the car's cornering, the double clutch 7-speed, or the BMW-ness of it, which is probably the most important aspect of the car? to a potential buyer. Also the fact that it's better than it's competitors, ask Clarkson.

Hope they fixed the ride, I had the previous shape Z4 and they crossed the line with the ride even on standard wheels and springs, was a nightmare to wrestle with on British roads at speed. Peoples! its a roadster and this is what a roadster shoud look like.? it you look at the swooping lines on the side of the vehicle it follows the traditional design. Love the style of this new z4, much more masculine... @mtooshort20 The L6 2JZ (supra) motor out weights a GM LS3 V8 by 150 lbs. Their not light motors, cast iron block, and forged internals - Great motors but don't be fooled they aren't? that light. The RB2. (skyline) is the better choice here for a lotus, however the VVTI Toyota 4's are the best all around choice. Reliable, well engineered, and most important to lotus, light-weight. Cheers.

it would still be too heavy and throw off the balance. If you wanted 6 cylinders, go with the Supra straight 6 or the Skyline's straight 6. They make massive power and you can still keep the balance? of the car so that it handles like a Lotus should :)

yeah but its still a lambo motor:)..? in the end if i was in charge i would probably take out the stock motor and put in a 3.5L nissan engine from a 350z.. that wouldn't be TOO heavy
